Appeal Case Decision

POST /post-order/v2/casemanagement/{caseId}/appeal

Buyers and sellers can use this method to appeal a case decision that was not ruled in their favor by eBay customer support. Optionally, the buyer or seller can include an explanation of why they appealing the case decision through the comments container.

This method is not supported in the Sandbox environment.

URI parameters

Parameter Type Required? Meaning
caseId string Required The unique identifier of a case. This URI parameter is required in order to identify the case for which an appeal will be filed against. The case ID value is passed in as part of the call URI.

Request field descriptions



Input Container/Field Type Occurrence Meaning
comments Text Optional This container is used if the buyer or seller wants to add a note or explanation about why an appeal is being made against the case decision.
comments.content string Conditional This field displays the actual textual content in the language specified in the language field. This field is always used for containers using the Text type.
comments.language string Conditional This two-letter code indicates the language used to display the content in the content field. The language will default to the language used on the eBay site if a specific language is not specified through the Accept-Language HTTP header. This field is always used for containers using the Text type.

comments.translatedFromContent string Conditional If language translation/localization is required, this field displays the actual textual content in the language specified in the translatedFromLanguage field. If language translation was not required, this field is not applicable.

This operation files a case decision appeal for a buyer or a seller.

Description

Use this operation to file an appeal on behalf of the buyer or the seller when eBay customer support rules against them in a case decision.

Input

The caseId path parameter identifies the INR or Return case being appealed, and the optional comments container enables the user to provide the desired degree of detail.

Output

There is no output payload with this response. A successful call contains an HTTP status code of 200.
