eBay Connect, the annual developer conference, took place in June at eBay's main office in San Jose, CA. Attendees got an inside look at eBay’s newest APIs and top initiatives. Although the conference was not open to all developers, we'd like to share some of the insights and resources with the entire developer community.

Programming over the two days included presentations on eBay’s newest APIs and initiatives from several of eBay's most influential leaders. The event concluded with the announcement of eBay’s Star Developer Awards, including the newest Nova Award. 2019 Star Developer Awards

This year, eBay presented three Star Developer Awards:

  • Early Adopter Award
  • Rapid Growth Award
  • Nova

Early Adopter Award

This year's early adopter award was presented to ChannelAdvisor for volunteering to test and use new eBay API capabilities and provide honest feedback. Below, Marshall Smith accepts the award on behalf of ChannelAdvisor.

Rapid Growth Award

The Rapid Growth Award went to Idealo GmbH, a developer that made the Top 5 Developer Buyer GMV this year. Below, Samuel Gabel and Hendrik Jager accept the award on behalf of Idealo GmbH.

Nova

For the first year ever, the Nova Award—which recognizes new and innovative businesses aligned with eBay’s mission—went to Monotote, a company that produces one-click commerce integration for publishers and helps bring the vision of distributed ecommerce to life. Monotote was awarded with a $10,000 prize and 10 hours of mentoring from eBay’s team. Below, Chris Schalenborgh, Monotote CTO, accepts the award.
